Arkansas Association of Black Psychology Professionals
AABPP's authority in the room was never the problem. Their visibility between the rooms was — and it depended entirely on whoever had time that week. MBM360 replaced that dependency with a communications function the association owns.
A recognized authority on mental health equity — statewide and nationally.
The Arkansas Association of Black Psychology Professionals is a cornerstone organization in mental health advocacy, working to address and dismantle barriers to mental health care in communities of color. Through workshops, seminars, and direct counseling, AABPP has built a body of expertise and a reputation that reaches well past Arkansas.
Their standing is not in question. AABPP has engaged in critical dialogues on mental health at conferences and national forums, and their research and publications have contributed materially to the national conversation on mental health equity and accessibility. They are, by any professional measure, thought leaders in their field.
The expertise was institutional. The communications capacity was not.
AABPP faced a gap familiar to almost every association we work with: the organization's substantive authority was well understood by the people already in the room, and close to invisible to everyone else. That gap was not a content problem. It was an operations problem.
A communications function — not a campaign.
The engagement was scoped as departmental operations, which means the deliverable was never the posts themselves. It was the machinery that produces posts predictably, and the documentation that lets the association keep running it.
Output the association could count on — and measure.
These are communications outcomes, reported as recorded. AABPP's audience base was small at the outset, so percentage growth is shown against its actual starting point rather than on its own.
A note on how to read these: AABPP's absolute audience numbers were modest, and we publish the starting figures rather than the percentages alone. The number that matters operationally is 86 — a sustained volume of published work produced on a schedule, by a process, rather than in bursts whenever someone found the time.
The reason this is infrastructure and not a campaign.
A marketing engagement ends and takes its process with it. The association is left with a set of posts and no more capacity than it started with — which is precisely why associations end up rebuilding the same communications function every few years.
MBM360 engagements are built to leave the operating system behind. Every workflow is documented as an institutional asset belonging to the association, not as a vendor's working method. That is the difference between an association that has had good communications and an association that has a communications function.
What AABPP owns going forward
- A publishing cadence that a new staffer or board member can pick up and run
- A documented repurposing path from existing expertise to published output
- Campaign formats that can be re-run without being reinvented
- A record of which formats and cadences actually performed, and why
Communications is one of six departments. The model is the same in all of them.
MBM360 runs the operational function and leaves the system behind — so the capacity stays with your association through the next transition, not with whoever happened to be carrying it.
